The soundtrack Incomplete Reason was composed for a practice-based research project.

The project examines the relationship between altered states of mind and contemporary AI, the deviant origins of neural network research and how specific events and movements since the mid-20th century in the US such as cybernetics, the Cold War and the counterculture influenced the cyberculture we live in today.

These lesser known histories are examined and subsequently used to ask current AI about memories of its suppressed history. Through a web interface, Lemont experiments with different digital tools to conduct a psychoanalysis of AI. The resulting, audio-visual work is based on AI generated text and imagery, a composed soundtrack as well as creative coding.

If you like experimental electronic music that still has an odd groove to it (this is somewhere between broken beat, drum and bass, and techno) you pretty much need this record. It's been one of my standouts of the last few years easily. If you like this, also check out AA Sudd "Pushedd" on Midgar Records which is more sleek, unbelievably sophisticated sound design in this vein. This gets my highest possible recommendation! jonarmst
